Ten years…what a milestone! New Avenues for Youth started more than ten years ago as a drop in center for homeless youth, operated by two employees. Today, it has grown into a multi-faceted organization serving more than 700 youth each year, offering a continuum of services to homeless and at-risk youth, empowering them to build healthy, independent and successful lives. On April 16th, we celebrated our 10th anniversary at downtown Portland’s University Club with a cocktail reception to honor our board, staff, volunteers and supporters. Thank you to Jeff Gianola of KOIN-6 News for emceeing the event and to Mike Hart and Union Bank of California for sponsoring this special celebration. Looking back on the ideas of our founding board members, we are reminded of the hard working people who made this organization possible. Looking towards the future, we see the potential of continued growth and are excited to reach the next stage in our development. Thank you for the role you have played in our organization for the past ten years. We would not be here without our community of staff, supporters, volunteers and friends.
