What do you do with a construction site whose progress has been halted until 2013? In these days of economic difficulty, TMT Development President Vanessa Sturgeon faced a dilemma that was all too common. But the innovative solution that she and New Avenues for Youth decided on was a bit more unheard of.

A conference room in New Avenues’ downtown facility was transformed into an art space, internationally famed and local artists were brought in, and thirty homeless and at-risk youth signed up to paint a gigantic mural that would soon surround the construction site.

The results were amazing.
